Some places whisper their arrival. Clase Código? It’s showing up loud, polished, and dressed to kill in a former Applebee’s. The space has been flipped, painted, and made new. Black-and-white walls. Bold typography. The kind of clean design that tells you this isn’t another watered-down taco joint.
It hasn’t opened yet, but the energy around this place is already building. This one’s for the food lovers, the tequila sippers, the ones who care about flavor and finish.
And I plan to be first in line when those doors unlock.
A Modern Mexican Concept Arrives

Clase Código is a modern Mexican restaurant getting ready to open at 3350 S 143rd Plaza, right by Oak View Mall. It’s got a vibe before it’s even served its first margarita. The design is tight. Clean lines. Minimal fuss. The signage is already Instagram bait.
What they're building here feels different. The concept is rooted in heritage, but everything about it leans current. Think classic Mexican dishes made from scratch, bold flavors, and a cocktail program that takes tequila seriously.
Their promise is simple: handcrafted food with a touch of elegance, and an atmosphere that lets the dishes do the talking.
What the Menu Is Serving

We managed to get our hands on the full menu, and here’s what caught my attention:
- Clase Del Mar – mahi mahi, shrimp, scallops, and octopus. A true seafood showdown.
- Sky Surf and Turf – grilled shrimp, chicken, ribeye, chorizo, nopales, rice, beans, and tortillas.
- Ribeye Tacos – not your average filler meat, this is grilled-to-order steak in warm, fresh tortillas.
- Chimichangas and Quesadillas – golden, cheesy, and stacked with legit meats like shrimp, chicken, and shredded beef.
The margarita menu hasn’t dropped yet, but the tequila wall inside says all you need to know. They're going to pour with precision. Clase Código is already teasing handcrafted cocktails, and if they’re doing it right, it’s going to be the kind of place where every sip earns its price.
A New Use for an Old Space
You’d never guess this was once a neighborhood Applebee’s. The transformation is complete. That corporate layout is gone. In its place is a restaurant that feels open, fresh, and well thought out.
This isn’t kitschy sombrero-on-the-wall design. It’s modern, but it still feels rooted in the culture it represents. Everything is intentional. From the black stone around the entrance to the subtle tile details inside, it’s got presence without being loud.
Give It Time to Breathe
The team is still working out the final touches. Kitchen gear is humming. The sign out front is fresh. But like any new spot, there’s going to be a learning curve once the doors open.
So when Clase Código finally launches, be cool. Be patient. Let them find their rhythm. The real magic in a place like this takes a few weeks to settle in. I’ll be there — probably at the bar — with a drink in one hand and a taco in the other, watching it all unfold.
A Taste of What’s Coming

They’re calling it an experience, not just a meal. That’s big talk. But from what I’ve seen so far, they just might deliver. I’ll be back with a full review once I’ve had my hands on some hot plates and my lips on a salt-rimmed glass.
Omaha doesn’t need another copy-and-paste Mexican restaurant. We need something that respects the roots while still pushing things forward. That’s what Clase Código looks like it’s trying to be.
And if they pull it off? This will be the place people drive across town for.
