Aloha Vibes in Miracle Hills is Near

I walked into the old Boston Market this morning and found vibrant evidence of fresh beginnings. Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is taking over the space, and the energy is electric. Staffers in bright Hawaiian-themed tees, pineapple logos blazing on the back, were putting final touches on walls and windows. This isn’t just a remodel; it’s transformation, and it’s happening fast.
More Than Just Another Plate Lunch

Omaha’s food scene is richer today because a proper taste of Hawaii is heading our way. Hawaiian Bros opened its first Nebraska eatery near I‑80 & Highway 370 in Gretna a year and a half ago. Now they’re expanding—this location in the revitalizing Miracle Hills area isn’t just growth, it’s affirmation.
Brooklyn Riggles, one of our resident food critics, put it best when she said, “Hawaiian Bros isn’t just selling lunch—it’s selling memory. The colors, the sauces, the aloha spirit—this place doesn’t just feed you, it transports you.”
“Hawaiian Bros isn’t just selling lunch; it’s selling memory. The colors, the sauces, the aloha spirit...this place doesn’t just feed you, it transports you.”
Their plate lunches have always been deceptively humble—chicken grilled in huli-huli or Molokai style, luau pig, rice, and mac salad. Spam musubi holds court as a surprise bite of brilliance: salty, sweet, wrapped, and unforgettable.
Editor on the Ground: "Authenticity Matters"
For me, what makes Hawaiian Bros different is authenticity. I don’t get swept up in gimmicks or tropical decor alone, I want flavor that lingers, grounded in tradition but honest. “What impressed me most,” I told Brooklyn this morning, “is that they didn’t water it down for the mainland. This is Hawaii by way of Nebraska, and it feels real.”
What We Know (and Who’s Watching)
- Location: Miracle Hills, 704 North 114th Street. A former Boston Market repurposed, refreshed, and on the brink of full aloha status.
- Status: Construction is actively underway and near completion, with staff training and finishing touches in progress.
- Community Impact: Miracle Hills is buzzing with new life, and Hawaiian Bros adds more than food, it adds vibrancy, color, and culture.
Why This Matters
Hawaiian Bros now spans nine mainland states, serving up a taste comforting enough to feel like home and bold enough to stand out. Its arrival in Omaha marks not just another restaurant opening, but a welcome of O’hana spirit to the metro.
And the timing could not be better. Miracle Hills is breathing again—new tenants, renewed energy, new reasons to drive through that corner of town, hungry and curious.
When Hawaiian Bros doors open, expect lines, laughter, and half the city trying to figure out how Hawaiian plate lunch became one of the metro’s best secrets.
I’ll be there, elbow to counter, first in line.
