Chicken N Pickle, an innovative entertainment venue, is set to become the cornerstone of the city’s $54 million upgrade at the bustling sports complex. This development marks a significant milestone in Omaha’s ongoing efforts to enhance its recreational and entertainment offerings.
A New Chapter for Tranquility Park
The announcement, made by Mayor Jean Stothert in conjunction with the park’s developers, brings a wave of anticipation to northwest Omaha. Situated at 120th and Fort, Chicken N Pickle will stand as a multifaceted entertainment anchor, seamlessly blending sports, dining, and socializing in a unique environment.
This innovative venue is designed to cater to all ages, providing an array of indoor and outdoor activities. At its core, Chicken N Pickle features pickleball courts, an emerging sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. But the fun doesn’t stop there. Guests can also enjoy a variety of other lawn games, including cornhole, ping pong, battleship, and Jenga.

The venue’s dining experience is equally noteworthy. Known for its chef-driven restaurant and sports bar, Chicken N Pickle offers a menu featuring responsibly raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free chicken, along with other mouth-watering options like pork and beef sandwiches, hand-cut fries, and tots. The Omaha location will boast indoor and outdoor bars, multiple dining areas on the main floor, and an inviting rooftop dining space.
A Boon for Local Economy and Community
Chicken N Pickle’s arrival is more than just a new entertainment option; it represents a significant economic and social boost for Omaha. The venue is set to open in 2025 after breaking ground in 2024 on the 55-acre property. This venture is part of a larger project to enhance Tranquility Park, including the addition of multi-purpose synthetic turf fields, baseball and softball fields, and improved parking and concessions, slated for completion in 2027.
The project promises to enhance Omaha’s appeal as a regional hub for youth sports and community events. “We expect this development to bring in about $78 million in direct visitor spending,” says Deborah Ward, executive director of Visit Omaha.
